The food and supplement industry often uses artificial (synthetic) food dyes (colors) to make their products more visually appealing. However, mounting scientific evidence suggests a strong association between the ingestion of artificial food dyes and psychological impairments in children and adults. In addition, artificial food dyes contain impurities, many of which are known or suspected cancer-causing carcinogens. These dyes include FD&C Blue #1, Blue #2, Green #3, Red #3, Red #40, Yellow #5, and Yellow #6.
